UC Santa Barbara’s Isla Vista locale is the Halloween party of the year on the West coast. Photographs from the event show packed streets and crowded yards. Days prior to the event, it’s common to see youths hauling multiple beer kegs into their houses in preparation for the event. “Sex, drugs, riots, and lingerie” says The Channel’s Online Staff Writer Madeline Koutnik of the event. There’s a reason why Playboy magazine once rated this UCSB event as the best party in America.
In Southern California, Isla Vista is the place to be for college students on Halloween. However, be forewarned, the Isla Vista Foot Patrol has cracked down on the annual event in past few years. The police force will arrest people drinking in public and minors in possession of alcohol. Expect traffic coming to and from Santa Barbara during Halloween Night.
