Occidental’s Associate Director of Institutional Advancement Regan Remulla passed away on April 3 at the age of 37. Remulla suffered complications following a heart surgery at the UCLA Medical Center, according to Occidental Communications Director Jim Tranquada.

Remulla worked closely with Director of Advancement Service and Campaign Reporting Kenneth Bonner, who repemebers their collaborations fondly.

“With his infectious laugh and his keen sense of humor, we always looked forward to tackling assignments together. He will be missed by all of us,” Bonner said.

Remulla joined Occidental’s staff after obtaining experience in a variety of careers, including banking, property management, and architecture. Before coming to Occidental, Remulla earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in 1997 and worked as the Associate Director for Annual Giving at UC Irvine.

His work at Occidental focused mainly on the college’s alumni and donor database, and he is remembered for his hard work, as attested to by Vice President for Institutional Advancement Shelby Radcliffe.

“[Remulla] cared deeply about Oxy and his work and was always focused on making Oxy a stronger institution for our students,” Radcliffe said in an email.

Remulla is survived by his wife, Kim, and son, Royce. Details of a memorial service are to be announced.
