Christopher J. Thaxton is a freshman from Oakland, California with an undecided major in his first year at The Weekly as a staff writer. He is an avid sport fan and can debate with anyone when it comes to baseball, basketball, or football topics. When he is not writing for The Weekly he enjoys listening to hip hop and r&b music along with playing recreational basketball. Chris also is on the rugby team and a member of the Black Student Alliance at Occidental.
