I find the alumni opinion stating that current students are apathetic towards selecting a new president unfair and uninformed. I had the events to meet the presidential candidates written down; however, as a busy student who also works and is involved in extracurricular activities, I found I couldn’t go. In addition to this, Oxy has not had the best track record in recent history. How are we as students supposed to feel confident in this new stranger? The same selection committee has been responsible for the last few short-lived candidates; perhaps it isn’t their fault, but how am I expected to view the same actions breeding different results as realistic. It’s the definition of insanity. Susan Prager herself told the class of 2011 that she intended to stay for at least the four years we were here, if not longer. As we all know she is no longer here. Perhaps those in charge should prove themselves reliable and capable before we blindly trust them.
