I thought it would be neat to let you know that there is a new professional fraternity around campus called Alpha Chi Sigma (AXE). The Occidental chapter of this co-ed national chemistry fraternity is small because of its recent conception, but it has a lot of support from the chemistry department. Although it is a professional chemistry fraternity, you do not need to be a chemistry major to be a part of the family. Members are bound with a tie of friendship and a pursuit of all things science related. Alpha Chi Sigma encourages people to be proud of their passions of profession. Events will be held for anyone interested in joining–it will be the coolest thing since the baking soda and vinegar volcano!
