GENDER NEUTRAL HOUSING:Gender Neutral Housing has been installed in one suite in Norris. This is the first year that Occidental students have had this housing option.

TIMES SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLED:The Los Angles Times and New York Times subscriptions in Occidental Residence Halls were cancelled due to the cost of $10,000 per year. The newspapers are now available in the library and bookstore.

CORE REQUIREMENTS:The Science/ Mathematics Core Requirements have changed for incoming classes. Students must still take a laboratory science, but the other two classes may be science or mathematics classes.

RES HALL PHONES:The College’s Telecommunications department removed all of the dorm phones in order to cut spending since they were rarely used. RAs and HCs will be receiving room phones shortly.

VENDING MACHINES:After a trial period at the end of last semester, Campus Dining is now supporting the use Meal Plan money at the Cooler vending machines. All students have $100 allocated from their meal plan towards vending but can change this amount by contacting Campus Dining.

FREE PRINTING:The Information Technology Services department is now offering a trial program of unlimited free printing for students.

COLLEGE RANKING:Oxy was ranked 36 on US News & World Report’s top liberal arts schools.
