I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and pride in the Women’s Glee Club – the Accidentals. This past Sunday, this amazing group of young women gave of themselves and their time to present a concert at my mother’s assisted living facility. Although they have frequent entertainers and outings, the residents have little quality entertainment such as this. Four days after the concert, it is still the talk of the place. The women mingled and talked with the residents after their energetic performance and touched many with their kindness, exuberance and talent. Then they quickly asked if they could return again next semester to entertain again. Some have shown interest in arranging to visit the residents just to talk and spend a little time one on one with them. Please note that the majority of these people are in their 80s and 90s and most are limited in their activities and mobility. Many have few if any visitors, even on holidays. The kindness of the Accidentals has brought much joy to these people and my pride in being able to work with such caring students and Oxy has doubled. Thank you from all of the residents at Vista Cove, Arcadia.
