Dear Editor,

Dean needs to check his facts. In his article about the National League playoff matchups, he cited Dodgers’ benchwarmer Jeff Kent as one of the “great hitters” in L.A.’s lineup. How can a guy who has had one playoff at-bat be considered evidence for why the Dodgers will win? Additionally, Dean ever so boldly stated that Manny Ramirez single-handedly matches the production of three Phillies hitters: 33 home run man Pat Burrell, elite second baseman Chase Utley, and reigning NL MVP Ryan Howard. Mathematically, this statement is way off. How can Manny possibly produce as much as three stars? If the Dodgers win the pennate, it won’t be because of Manny alone, or even Jeff Kent for that matter. It will be because of their other two outfielders, their veteran starting pitching, and their strong bullpen. But I’m betting against them. Phillies in six.
