I was disturbed and appalled when I realized today that the cooler doors don’t have locks on them. Come on guys, get with the program, it’s 2008 already! You should have scannable ID machines on the outside of every door of the cooler, because we ARE in the middle of LA after all, and at any minute some sketchy group of kids off the street could wander in and steal my malibu chicken sandwich. Or, worse, my salmon rolls.

Walls are in. Hillary and Barack agree that we should build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico. Oxy should follow their lead– the 105 freeway has a wall on BOTH sides and we don’t have one at all? While they’re at it, I’d like to see a wall between Stearns and Norris, because everyone knows Stearns is overrun with thieves and vagrants.

And boy was I relieved when I got locked into the Rangeview stairwell for the fourth time last night. If there had been a fire in the parking lot, I would have been nice and safe. I also felt really happy when Bob Skotheim emailed me to say that “numerous video surveillance systems…are in place across campus, although for security reasons we do not divulge their exact locations or how they operate.” That sounds so cool and futuristic, Bob! Will you put the videos on facebook?
