Today is the kickoff of Rebirth Week! In anticipation of the week, the we would like to highlight some events:

Wednesday (3/24): Enjoy a brass band performance in the quad and learn a little about the music of New Orleans. Thursday (3/25): Attend Rebirth’s Open Mic Night at the Cooler at 8 PM for an evening filled with performances by Oxy students and Caribbean food from Coley’s! Plates are $5 and all proceeds go to Haitian relief. Friday (3/26): Come to a Cultural Fair honoring Haiti and learn about Haitian art and music. Saturday (3/27): Volunteer at Proyecto Jardin and spend the day in a local community garden (sign-up in the quad during the days proceeding). Monday (3/29): Come and hear community activist Nat Turner speak at Oxy. Tuesday (3/30): Learn about the Angola 3 and criminal injustice in the United States. Wednesday (3/31): Come and listen to former Black Panther and Common Ground Collective Co-founder Malik Rahim speak on campus.

Rebirth is psyched for the week ahead and hopes see the Occidental Community there!
