This Halloween, students will trade in their costumes to dance the night away to the sounds of electric dance music duo ODESZA at Occidental Programming Board’s fall concert.
ODESZA, hailing from Seattle, Washington, is composed of members Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, who go by the pseudonyms Catacombkid and BeachesBeaches. Students may recognize the group from popular tracks such as “Sun Models” or “Say My Name.”
The two formed the band in 2012 shortly after graduating from Western Washington University, and have released two albums since their debut: “Summer’s Gone” (2012) and “In Return” (2014), which came out last month and hit the number one spot on Billboard’s dance/electronic music charts.
“We are really excited to bring ODESZA to Oxy, especially because there haven’t been any dances this semester. We’re hoping that everyone can let loose and get a little weird,” Programming Board event planner Asa Welch (junior) said.
ODESZA is scheduled to play in the Greek Bowl.RAW Records is co-hosting the event and will present the opening act—which is still being determined—and the closing act. DJ James Colohan will close the show with an electronic-house set.
